MARK YOUR CALENDAR! The Caloosahatchee Forestry Center invites you to join us for our annual Festival in the Woods at Picayune Strand State Forest. Our Family-friendly event includes free admission and lunch also provided at no charge. This year’s theme, Flatwoods Ecology, includes scheduled presentations from Chris Schmiege, Forester, Florida Forest Service and Monica Folk, Wildlife Ecologist, Milliken Forestry, as well as guided hikes and bike tours. Meet with a variety of local exhibitors and ecological interest groups providing educational information and wares for sale throughout the day. Activities offered include child-centered activities from horse rides and a bounce house to a quiet tent and games.
